Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Moment app ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
The Service
Moment is a daily journaling app. Once a day, at a random time, you receive a notification inviting you to capture a moment — a short written entry and a photo. You may optionally share your entry anonymously with another user and view theirs in return.
Your Account
You must create an account using Apple Sign In or Google to use the App. You are responsible for maintaining access to your account. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen, which permanently removes all your data.
Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you create in the App, including journal entries and photos. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content to you, and — if you opt in to anonymous sharing — to display your entry text, photo, and city name to one other user without identifying information.
Anonymous Sharing
If you choose to share a moment, your entry may be shown to another random user. Shared entries include your text, photo, and city name only. Your name, email, and account are never revealed. Once shared, the entry is visible to the other user briefly and cannot be recalled.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Post content that is illegal, threatening, abusive, or harmful
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
- Use the App for any commercial purpose without our written consent
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
AI-Generated Summaries
The App uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI) to generate weekly and monthly summaries of your journal entries. These summaries are provided for personal reflection and are not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.
Availability
We strive to keep the App available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We are not liable for any loss of data beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will meet your specific needs, be error-free, or be available at all times.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
